Teaching

I love teaching. It's the heart of my work and has been for more than a decade.

My classes are clear. I give you enough context to understand what we're doing and why, then I get out of the way so you can experience the practice for yourself. You're not performing poses for me. You're learning to listen to your own body, to experiment, and to find your own steadiness. The practice gets built around the people in the room, not the other way around.

Students tell me they leave calmer than they expected, with a clearer mind, and knowing something new about their bodies. They tell me the classes are well sequenced and that their strength and flexibility improve along the way. All of that matters to me equally. When I teach strength, I take the same approach: clear instruction, adapted to the person, progressing with care. You get stronger, and you understand how you got there.

All classes are hybrid. Practice in person at Aham Yoga in Redmond or join live online from anywhere.

Yoga Therapeutics · weekly

All levels.

This class integrates traditional yoga practices with modern science: hatha and vinyasa asana, mindful self-myofascial release, mobility work, and pranayama. You'll build strength, flexibility, and balance, and leave with tools to carry the practice into everyday life.

Currently Tuesdays, 12:00 to 1:00 pm PT.

Props are provided in studio. Online, you'll want two blocks, a strap, a blanket, and two yoga tune-up balls. Tennis balls work too.

Yin Yoga · 75 minutes

All levels, and especially worthwhile if your usual practice is movement-based.

A few times a year I teach a longer yin practice: slow, quiet, and spacious. We begin with a short introduction to the purpose and approach of yin, then settle into long-held, supported shapes that gently work the connective tissue and let the nervous system downshift.

Upcoming dates and registration are at the link below.

Your yoga classes flow yet challenge me without making me realize I'm being challenged and I love that. I also love the fascia release techniques that you teach. You have a really great style that I don't get from other classes.

I also work with teachers: anatomy teaching for 200-hour trainings and one-on-one mentoring. If you're a studio or training program, see Workshops & Speaking.

If you want this work built entirely around you, private sessions go deeper, weekly or at your own pace. See private sessions
